What Are Trampoline Springs
Trampoline springs are extension springs designed to connect the jumping mat to the steel frame of a trampoline. They store energy when the mat is depressed and release it to propel the jumper upward. They are subject to high cycle loading — a trampoline spring in regular use can cycle hundreds of thousands of times over its service life.
The spring must maintain consistent load characteristics across its service life. A spring that weakens or loses its original length over time reduces trampoline performance and can create an uneven jumping surface. The name convention refers to the number of coils x the frame size the spring is designed for. For example, 1.0 x 17 means 1.0 coil pitch factor x 17-foot frame — though actual sizing varies by manufacturer. When ordering, reference the total length in mm and outer diameter for the most reliable matching.
Custom sizes outside this range are available. Provide wire diameter, total length including hooks, and outer diameter — or send a sample spring for measurement and replication.
Material and Surface Finish
Grade III / SH-DH spring steel
All standard trampoline springs are manufactured in Grade III / SH-DH high carbon spring steel. SH-DH wire has higher tensile strength and better fatigue resistance than standard spring steel grades — important for a product that cycles continuously under body weight loads.
Zinc white finish
Standard finish is zinc white plating. This provides corrosion protection for outdoor trampoline use — rain, morning dew and general garden exposure. Zinc white is the industry standard finish for trampoline springs globally.
Stainless steel — on request
SS304 stainless steel trampoline springs are available on request for marine environments, coastal locations or premium product lines where a no-coat corrosion resistant spring is specified. Contact us for availability and lead time on SS304 sizes.
